Album of the decade discussion

As some of you may know, the reigning opinions of Pitchfork Media will begin to announce a list of the 200 best albums of the decade [2000-2009] tonight at 1:00.

In my personal opinion, the best album to be released in this decade is "Person Pitch" [2007] by Panda Bear. Some other favorites are easily;

"Since I Left You" by The Avalanches[2000]
"Owls" by Owls [2001]
"LIFTED" by Bright Eyes [2002]
"Give Up" by The Postal Service [2003]
"Oaklandazulasylum" by WHY? [2003]
"Funeral" by Arcade Fire [2004]
"Sung Tongs" by Animal Collective [2004]
"Feels" by Animal Collective [2005]
"In Case We Die" by Architecture In Helsinki [2005]
"Elephant Eyelash" by WHY? [2005]
"Ys" by Joanna Newsom [2006]
"Cryptograms" by Deerhunter [2007]
"Strawberry Jam" by Animal Collective [2007]
"Love Is Simple" by Akron/Family [2007]

I will be pretty upset if all of those don't make it in the top 200. I know for sure Owls won't be there. But if you've listened, you know it deserves the recognition!

My Predictions for the top five:

5)"The Glow, Pt. 2" by The Microphones
4)"Funeral" by Arcade Fire
3)"Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" by Wilco
2)"Turn On the Bright Lights" by Interpol
1) "Kid A" by Radiohead

After p4k's list of songs for this decade. I'm sure we will be disappointed!

  1. Yesss, I'm happy Yoshimi and Hissing Fauna made it up there. Although I know pitchfork likes Hisssing Fauna more than Skeletal Lamping so no hope for my favorite album ever :(

Also glad Bitte Orca is up there. And happy that The Glow Pt 2 isn't number 5 haha.
